In a dream, Abao (played by Wu Jingtao) is sitting on the back of his father's bicycle, holding a pinwheel in one hand and hugging tightly with the other, but the beautiful dream shatters. His down-and-out father, Zhou Changsheng (played by Aaron Kwok), has a gambling addiction, which his mother, A Lian (played by Yang Cai Ni), can no longer endure. After deciding to leave, she is brought back against her will. To salvage their already broken relationship, the father naively arranges for the whole family to go on a cruise vacation, and the mother seizes the opportunity to leave home.
In the midst of their poverty, Zhou Changsheng is also pursued by loan sharks. After a series of misfortunes, he considers abandoning Abao, but before he can leave, the debt collectors break his legs. The two embark on a path of escape; the injured father is unable to earn money and ends up forcing Abao to borrow money and even steal. On one occasion, Abao fails while stealing, and the timid father is powerless to save him... How will the reunion of this father and son unfold?
