After the death of his wife, former principal Morii Kyouichi (played by Masanari Ogata) lives a reclusive life, devoting all his energy to translating Russian literature with a rigid and stubborn personality. The only one who still connects with Kyouichi, apart from the social worker Shougo Shika (played by Shouta Sometani) who often brings him various materials, is a cute little cat. This cat was a stray that Kyouichi's wife fed during her lifetime, and it appears regularly in Kyouichi's yard. Thus, Kyouichi takes over his wife's role and becomes the next "litter cleaner" for the little cat. One day, Kyouichi discovers that the cat has not appeared for several days. Having developed a deep affection for the cat, he decides to leave his home and embark on a journey to find it.
