Mary and her husband are traditional Muslims living in the UK, having cherished each other for forty years. Without warning, her husband suddenly passes away. They once had a child and enjoyed a life as a family of three, but now she is left all alone. As the pain has not yet faded, Mary unexpectedly discovers photographs of a strange woman and intimate conversations. Following the clues across the sea, thirty-four kilometers away in Calais, France, she finds another woman who had been living with her husband for many years. This woman not only does not recognize Mary, but she is also unaware that the man they share has passed away. By a twist of fate, Mary becomes the other woman's helper, stepping into her small home and into her husband's secret life.
