Dora (Isabela Moner) has lived with her parents in the jungle since childhood. One day, her parents decide to search for the legendary city of gold, so they leave Dora in the care of her cousin Diego (Jeffrey Wahlberg) and his family in the city. Thus, wild-spirited Dora begins her high school life. Naturally, Dora, who has been free-spirited all her life, struggles to adapt to school, leading to many humorous situations. However, during a school field trip, she and her friends are kidnapped by mysterious criminals and taken back to the jungle, which is where Dora truly thrives. Using her extensive survival skills, she rescues her classmates, and even sets out to save her parents, who have also been kidnapped.
