High school student Simon (played by Devon Bostick) loses his parents in a car accident and has lived with his uncle Tom for years. In the final days of his grandfather's life, Simon records his grandfather's memories on video, piecing together the gradually fading image of his parents... Simon's teacher, Sabine (played by Arsinée Khanjian), assigns a translation task that involves the narrator's memories of their parents being caught in a terrorist attack. As Simon completes the assignment, he becomes one with the narrator, leading his classmates to mistakenly think he is publicly sharing his personal experiences. Sabine urges Simon to continue creating, and the students engage in lively discussions online, with some teachers, parents, and even strangers expressing their opinions about the son of this "terrorist." While making a living as a tow truck driver, Tom unexpectedly encounters Sabine, and through their interactions, Tom discovers she is the ex-wife of his deceased brother-in-law, revealing a psychological burden he is reluctant to confront... This film won the Best Canadian Film award at the 2008 Tokyo International Film Festival.
