This film is adapted from Michael Zadoorian's novel of the same name, telling the story of an elderly couple suffering from serious illnesses who set off in an old RV from Massachusetts to visit Hemingway's house, reflecting on their lives during the journey. John is a literature teacher and writer, a devoted admirer of Hemingway. Despite suffering from Alzheimer's disease that gradually worsens his memory—causing him to forget the names of his wife and children—he can still recite all of Hemingway's works, with "The Old Man and the Sea" being his favorite. Because his wife, Ella, requires hospitalization for her serious illness, John has no choice but to move into a nursing home, and the couple, who have spent a lifetime together, face the prospect of being separated forever. Thus, they make a crazy decision to drive an RV called "Leisure Seeker" south from Massachusetts, reminiscing about the vacations they took in the 70s with their children, with their destination being Hemingway's house in Key West.
