Hannah (Brigitte Grothum), Abrasha (Elin Kolev), and Lailisa (Imogen Burrell) are three musical prodigies with a gift for music. Through their passion, the three establish an inseparable friendship. War begins unexpectedly as the German army invades Ukraine, putting Hannah in an awkward and dangerous situation. At the height of the crisis, Lailisa persuades her family to take in Hannah's entire family, allowing them to survive the bombardment. The German army soon starts their acts of pillage and destruction, ruining countless homes and instruments. A German major, who loves music and appreciates Hannah's talent, gives her a violin, hoping to nurture her into a talented musician. However, what Hannah doesn't realize is that she has become a pawn in the hands of politicians.
