Two bandits break into a telegraph office at a train station, forcing the telegraph operator to send a signal to the train and then binding the operator. As the train approaches, the bandits stealthily board it. Subsequently, the bandits stop the train, force all the passengers off, and loot their belongings. After their successful heist, the four bandits escape to the prairie to divide their spoils. Meanwhile, a young girl saves the telegraph operator, who then rushes to the police station to report the crime. A group of policemen begins to pursue the bandits, and a fierce gunfight erupts on the prairie, ultimately leading to the demise of the four bandits one by one. The "Great Train Robbery" is adapted from a true robbery that occurred in the United States in 1900. The film tells a relatively complex story through 14 scenes and is the first Western film directed by Edwin S. Porter. It became the most popular film of its time, running for ten years. This work introduced a new "Western wind" to American cinema, leading to the gradual prosperity of Western films.
