The story takes place in a dorayaki specialty shop called "The Spring of Dorayaki," where Chentarō (Masatomi Nagase) is the shop manager. He used to have a very dark past, but now he buries the unbearable memories deep in his heart and focuses solely on being a humble dorayaki vendor. One day, an elderly man named Tokekawa (Kirin Kiki) comes to the store, claiming he is there to apply for a clerk position. However, the small "The Spring of Dorayaki" does not need any clerks, and Chentarō originally plans to refuse Tokekawa. Nevertheless, after Tokekawa presents his homemade red bean paste, Chentarō is shocked by the deliciousness of the filling, and thus, Tokekawa becomes part of the shop. As time goes by, unfavorable rumors about Tokekawa spread throughout the town, even affecting the shop's business.
