After his wife attempts suicide, Nikola, a temporary worker, is also forced to part with his two children, who are placed with foster parents. Initially, this is only a temporary arrangement, but after assessing Nikola's living conditions, the director of the social welfare office in the small Serbian village believes that Nikola is too poor to provide a good living environment for his children. The taciturn Nikola decides to appeal to the Belgrade Department of Social Affairs and vows to walk 300 kilometers to the capital to demonstrate his determination to make significant efforts for his children. Director Golubović tells this unequal story through authentic and moving images. The protagonist, Nikola, not only measures this country with his peaceful and resilient character but also explores the boundaries between right and wrong. This tenacious father is determined not to succumb to despair, embarking on a heroic journey that redefines the term "hero."
