In order to enhance the local reputation, the mayor of Oita City, Kenichiro Hanami (played by Tofu Kazama), decides to form a stylish women's tug-of-war team, with Chiaki Nishikawa (played by Mao Inoue) from the city government's publicity department appointed as the project's leader. Although the local women's tug-of-war had its glorious moments, it is now a far cry from its former glory. Troubled, Chiaki has a brilliant idea and decides to organize her mother, Yoko (played by Keiko Matsuzaka), and the sisters at the meal preparation center. They agree with the mayor that if they can qualify for the national competition, the order to close the meal prep center will be revoked. Along with Chiaki, this makeshift and dispirited women's tug-of-war team finally takes shape, and they also hire public interest coach Koji (played by Tetsuji Tamayama) from a farming background. The road to the national competition is fraught with challenges, and how will this team, full of problems and conflicts, achieve their goals?
