In the 1960s, during an economic boom, northern Italy was constructing Europe’s tallest building, while at the other end of the country, a group of young spelunkers was exploring the deepest cave in Europe within the pristine heart of Calabria. For the first time, humans were set to visit the bottom of the Furtos Abyss, 700 meters below the surface. The nearby villagers noticed little of this group of explorers, but an old shepherd from the Pollino plateau saw his reclusive life beginning to intertwine with their adventures.
