In his early years, widower Lao Liu (Zhu Xu) raised two sons and devoted his life to running a bathhouse, becoming a top player in the bathing industry in Beijing. His eldest son, Da Ming (Pu Cunxin), has been away for years in the south and hasn't returned, leaving only his simple second son, Er Ming (Jiang Wu), by his side. With the bathhouse business increasingly declining, Lao Liu feels an overwhelming sense of desolation, but he still has a group of old friends who can't part with the bathhouse to accompany him. One day, Da Ming suddenly returns, leaving Lao Liu stunned. It turns out that he misread a postcard from Er Ming thinking that his father had passed away, which is why he hurried back. Faced with a father who is safe but in the twilight of his years, an ignorant simple brother, and a dilapidated bathhouse, Da Ming has no intention of staying long and just wants to leave quickly. At the moment Da Ming is about to depart, Lao Liu suddenly falls ill. Reluctantly, Da Ming puts down his baggage and begins to take care of his father, brother, and the bathhouse. From then on, he starts trying to understand his father and gradually feels moved.
