After eight years of arduous resistance against the Japanese and the Chinese Civil War, the People's Republic of China was finally established on the disaster-prone land of China. However, in the remote and rugged mountains of our frontier, imperialist forces and remnants of the Kuomintang linger. They collude with local bandits and conservative forces, exchanging military supplies and constantly plotting schemes to undermine the new China. Wei Fu, the leader of a mule train, is one of the representative figures of the reactionary forces. He collaborates with reactionaries both inside and outside the country, taking advantage of his familiarity with the terrain to continuously transport weapons and communication equipment into our country. Wei Fu's activities have raised the vigilance and attention of patriotic citizens, prompting the Hongpo Patrol Team to investigate after receiving a tip-off. They dispatched squad leader Feng Tinggui and Zhu Linsheng to follow up. The two disguised themselves as muleteers to approach Wei Fu, while the cunning villain revealed his vicious fangs... This film is adapted from Bai Hua's short story "A Mule Train Without a Bell."
