The film tells the story of historian, novelist, and British intelligence officer Gertrude Bell (1868-1926), who played a significant role in establishing a new political order in the Middle East during the 1920s. Bell, having been well-educated from a young age, found it difficult to find a suitable partner in Britain, so she traveled to Tehran. There, she fell in love with the gambling-addicted diplomat Henry Cadogan, but their relationship didn't develop smoothly. Consequently, Bell decided to abandon her personal life and dedicate herself to exploring the surrounding regions. Before the fall of the Ottoman Empire, Bell studied languages, translated literary works, and met with high-ranking Muslim officials in places like Cairo, Basra, and Baghdad. Due to her courageous demeanor, she earned the trust of these leaders. Destined to become a bridge between the British Empire and Middle Eastern countries, Bell participated in delineating the borders of the region after World War I. During this time, love entered her life once again. Werner Herzog tells the legendary epic of this "Desert Queen" against the backdrop of vast deserts.
