Years ago, humanity defeated "Godzilla" in Antarctica using the super battleship "Hōten," and sealed "Godzilla" underground. However, apart from "Godzilla," many other monsters are eyeing major human cities. As a result, humanity established the "Earth Defense Force," specifically to deal with various monster invasions. The most powerful member of the Earth Defense Force is the "Hōten" and its captain, Colonel Douglas Gordon, who sealed Godzilla years ago. Soon after, Shinichi Ozaki received a warning from Infant Island's "Little Beauty" that this monster is "Gigan," sealed away by "Mothra." The emergence of Gigan signifies a crisis for humanity. Shortly after Gigan surfaced, various monsters suddenly attacked around the world simultaneously, overwhelming the Earth Defense Force. However, mysterious aircraft suddenly appeared and took all the monsters away. These aliens, claiming to be "X aliens," declared themselves friends of humanity and wanted to establish an alliance, even stating that a massive planet was about to collide with Earth. However, investigations by Shinichi Ozaki and Douglas revealed that there was no mysterious planet threatening Earth. The monsters were actually released by aliens invading Earth, and the X aliens intended to use humans as food. Although the alien's true nature was exposed, they possessed incredible superpowers, along with enormous monsters obedient to them. Ultimately, the Earth Defense Force was annihilated, leaving only the Hōten barely surviving. At this point, Douglas devised a bold plan to unseal Godzilla in Antarctica, allowing Godzilla, representing the most powerful monster on Earth, to confront these alien invaders...
