"Permanent Residence" is the first installment of director Yun Xiang's "Extreme Trilogy." Ivan (played by Li Jiahao), who doesn't believe he will live past 30, has worked doubly hard in his life, achieving accomplishments beyond what the average man can reach. However, he encounters Windson (played by Hong Zhijie) at the gym, a man who deeply attracts him in appearance, interests, and conversation. Like a couple in love, they eagerly and boldly explore each other—working out, boxing, traveling, drinking—experiencing an irreplaceable passion and resonance. Meanwhile, Josh (played by Zhou Debang) always provides Ivan with warmth and comfort that Windson cannot. On the night of Ivan's 30th birthday, in a moment of despair when all his loved ones have left him, he makes a secret and "eternal" promise with Ivan... After enduring several life-and-death separations, Ivan, seeking refuge at the world's extreme end, initially believes he will never see Windson again. But to his surprise, what awaits him there is an eternal and heartbreaking promise…
