At just fourteen, Kerry Ann (played by Annette Bening) becomes pregnant and gives birth. In her youthful ignorance, she gives up her parental rights. Over thirty years pass, and the memory of that baby weighs heavier on Kerry Ann's heart; she longs for her constantly. Elizabeth (played by Naomi Watts) is beautiful and sexy, navigating through different relationships effortlessly. Longing for freedom, she never anticipated that a child might hinder her progress, leading her to undergo a sterilization procedure early on. However, an unexpected event places her in a dilemma with no easy choices. Lucy (played by Kerry Washington) has been married for years without children, and yearning for a child, she decides to adopt, but the path is fraught with challenges. Finally, Lucy encounters a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Will she be able to fulfill her wish this time? A single child connects three women with vastly different identities and personalities. Through struggles and sorrow, each woman discovers what is most precious in their lives.
