During the Sino-Japanese War in 1941, Tong Gang, the captain of the puppet Manchukuo gendarmerie, was involved with Xiao Juan, the mistress of Japanese Kwantung Army Captain Matsui. When Matsui caught them, a struggle ensued, and Tong accidentally killed Matsui. Injured, he abandoned his post and fled but fell into a coma from his wounds. He was rescued by hunter Old Sun and his daughter, Sun Tiemei. Sun Tiemei had secretly been in a relationship with her childhood sweetheart Wang Huzhu. During a raid on a puppet Manchukuo transport convoy, Old Sun was shot and fell unconscious. Wang Hu recognized Tong Gang's identity, and while he was trying to rescue Old Sun, Tong secretly shot Wang and other anti-Japanese fighters... Behind-the-scenes This film is a story set against the backdrop of the War of Resistance, starring the famous adult film star Shu Qi during her early career. Director Ye Hongwei is known as a representative of the second generation of Taiwanese cinema and had previously directed Ai Jing's debut film "Five Women and a Rope." The film sets a historical backdrop that should have a rich artistic temperament, but it was unexpectedly disrupted and shifted towards a commercial route, showing evident influences from Hong Kong cinema. Shu Qi's full-frontal performance was marketed as a commercial selling point, and her dynamic portrayal garnered her some attention and nominations at film festivals.
