A group of Native Americans, the Osage tribe, were forcibly removed from their ancestral land to a barren area in Oklahoma, only to unexpectedly discover oil there. This led the Osage people to suddenly become wealthy, but it also brought about a deadly threat against them. Following this, many white individuals flooded into this land flowing with black gold, resorting to all means to seize profits. World War I veteran Ernest (Leonardo DiCaprio) arrived here to make a living and sought out his wealthy uncle William Hale (Robert De Niro). William had close ties with the indigenous people and walked the line between races, yet beneath his friendly exterior lurked a greedy and malicious heart. He suggested to Ernest to pursue the wealthy Native woman Molly (Lily Gladstone), while he was actually eyeing the wealth that her family possessed. In just a few years, dozens of Native Americans met with untimely deaths. The gentleman is not guilty, but possessing wealth is a crime... This film is adapted from David Grann's best-selling book.
