In the War of Yan and Zhao, the King of Yan is gravely injured, and General Murong Xuehu (played by Donnie Yen) is entrusted with the urgent task. Yan Shuai (played by Guo Xiaodong), consumed by jealousy, murders the king and plots for power. The king dies tragically, leading to national mourning. According to the king's last wishes, the throne is to be passed to General Murong, but Yan Shuai obstructs this.
