Xi Rong (played by Li Zixiong), Ah B (played by Tony Leung), and Fai Jai (played by Jacky Cheung) grew up together in the Stone Umbrella area. The three had a brotherly bond; despite their poor backgrounds, their youthful hearts never lost their dreams and aspirations for the future. Ah B wanted to marry his girlfriend Xiao Zhen (played by Yuen Qiu), so everyone brainstormed unique ideas to raise money for him. Fai Jai borrowed from a loan shark but was robbed on the way, and he got injured on the way to the wedding. Later, Ah B and Fai Jai sought revenge and accidentally killed Fei Qiang, prompting Xi Rong and the others to flee to Vietnam. At that time, the mayor of Saigon was imposing strict measures, turning the situation into hell for them, and they encountered assassinations by the Viet Cong targeting Vietnamese officials. Xi Rong decided to risk everything to make some money before leaving Vietnam. Xi Rong's distant relative, Ah Lok (played by Simon Yam), who is a professional hitman, learned that the Vietnamese bully Leung Yuen Shing was trading gold at a nightclub. He collaborated with others to launch an attack and stole the gold after a fierce battle. Ah B nearly lost his life trying to save a Hong Kong singer, Chen Xiuqing... This ambition work from John Woo during his peak period deeply explores themes of love and loyalty, with explosive and eye-catching action scenes. It is a rare gem in Hong Kong cinema.
