This film is adapted from the autobiography of American animal scientist and PhD in animal husbandry, Temple Grandin (played by Claire Danes), who has autism since childhood, telling the unique growth experience of Temple. At the age of four, Temple was diagnosed with autism by a doctor, and her mother tried various methods to encourage her to speak. In order to give Temple a normal life, her mother painfully sent her to a boarding school. Here, Temple met her mentor, Dr. Carlock, who opened the door to her talents. With her mentor's help, Temple successfully got admitted to college. During the summer before college, Temple went to her aunt's farm for vacation. From then on, Temple developed a strong interest in livestock. In college, Temple created a "squeezer machine" to calm her nerves. After graduation, Temple continued her research in animal husbandry, designing a more humane slaughtering method that significantly increased slaughter rates. Temple perceives the world in her unique way, "thinking like livestock," and shares her personal experiences loudly at autism seminars...
