In the mid-20th century, shrouded in despair, Chiune Sugihara (played by Toshiaki Karasawa), born into a普通家庭 in Japan, entered the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs due to his exceptional linguistic talent and intelligence analysis skills, and was dispatched to work at the foreign ministry of the puppet state Manchukuo. He showcased his strength in work, but was deemed an "unwelcome person" by the Soviet side. In 1939, Sugihara took up his post at the embassy in Lithuania, constantly monitoring the movements of the European powers. Soon, Germany launched a blitzkrieg against Poland, marking the catastrophic onset of World War II. Due to the brutal ethnic cleansing, thousands of Jews became refugees, desperately seeking any slim chance of survival. Ultimately, they flocked to the Japanese embassy in Lithuania, pleading with Sugihara to issue transit visas for their escape. Faced with Japan's alliance with Germany, the government refused the refugees' requests. Standing at the intersection of national interests and humanity, Sugihara made a significant decision…
