Clara (Mackenzie Foy) was left by her mother when she was very young, who left her with only a box containing priceless treasures. Drosselmeyer (Morgan Freeman) is Clara’s godfather, and during a party he hosts, a mysterious golden thread guides Clara to find the key to open the box. However, Clara is then transported to a mysterious parallel world. This magical world was created by Clara’s mother, where four kingdoms are ruled by their respective kings. The key that Clara longs for is held by the most evil of them all — the Sugar Plum Fairy (Helen Mirren), whose existence is causing this once peaceful and prosperous world to slowly spiral into chaos. Clara must team up with the kind friends she meets there to retrieve the key and dismantle the Sugar Plum Fairy's rule and ambitions.
