This is a perfect beach holiday, at least for one family, a young couple, several tourists, and an exile who all believe so. They have come to the same tranquil, idyllic little cove, which boasts rock pools and sandy beaches, surrounded by lush, densely vegetated cliffs. However, behind this utopia hides a dark secret: first, there is a floating female corpse in the crystal-clear water. There is also a bizarre phenomenon occurring: all the children are aging rapidly. Soon, everyone realizes they are getting older—every half hour—and it seems there is no way to leave this little cove. Shyamalan said this movie was inspired by the French graphic novel "Sandcastle," created by Pierre Oscar Levy and artist Frederik Peeters. In "Sandcastle," the story features 13 people who are unable to leave a mysterious, secluded beach where a dark secret involving time is hidden. However, the comic does not reveal the reason for this temporal mystery, resembling more a prophecy story about survival and death. But "OLD" is not a direct adaptation of this graphic novel, so Shyamalan himself will tell the rest of the story and the ideas behind it.
