The story begins with the protagonist, Naoki Soutomi (Kento Yamazaki), who lives in Hokkaido, meeting the high school piano tuner, Souichirou Itadori (Tomokazu Miura). After being tuned by Itadori, Naoki feels as if he can sense the breath of the forest in the piano's tone, which draws him into the world of this job and the life of a tuner, leading him to work at Itadori's music store.
