Three women across time and space are connected by a name—Mrs. Dalloway. Virginia Woolf (Nicole Kidman), living in suburban London in the 1920s, is completing her final novel, "Mrs. Dalloway." Straddling the edge of fiction and reality, she endures immense pressure and a feeling of being trapped, even yearning for death. Laura Brown (Julianne Moore), a housewife in Los Angeles at the end of World War II, is constantly questioning what a more meaningful life is as "Mrs. Dalloway" causes her to reflect. The daily routine of managing a household also leads her to contemplate suicide. Clarissa Vaughan (Meryl Streep), living in New York in the 1990s, is leading a life reminiscent of Mrs. Dalloway. Her beloved friend Richard, immensely talented, struggles with AIDS and can barely care for himself. Kind-hearted, she hosts parties to bring joy to everyone, yet she cannot resolve her own feelings of loneliness and sadness. In different times and spaces, the struggles and resistances against death within them never cease, moment by moment.
