Ruonan's father (played by Anthony Wong) is a lawyer, and her mother (played by Ada Choi) is an active public welfare advocate. He has always been strict with Ruonan and seldom stays with her. After meeting the lively Jiafu, she soon becomes attracted to him. On Ruonan's 18th birthday, they go camping in the countryside and indulge in forbidden fruit. When Ruonan discovers she is pregnant, she discusses with Jiafu about having an abortion. Faced with terrifying tools and after a big argument with her family, she decides to hide in a friend's ancestral home until the child is born. After living alone, Jiafu realizes how difficult it is to support a family, and the couple begins to have differences.
