Young Jinshui (played by Wei Long) illegally smuggles himself to France with the goal of bringing his mother and sister out of the country. To achieve this, he risks selling fake passports and ends up on the police's wanted list, forcing him to flee France. He heads to Canada to seek refuge with his friend Kuai Jin (played by Ren Dahua), a young man who, though carefree, has a kind heart. Kuai Jin decides to help Jinshui through his difficulties and willingly takes him in.
