Middle-aged stage actor Yasuhisa discovers his screenwriter wife, Oto, having an affair. However, he quietly closes the door and leaves, as if nothing happened, continuing to live with his wife in harmony and love. Until his wife's death, Yasuhisa never manages to be honest with her, which becomes a knot in his heart. Following this, still grieving, Yasuhisa begins preparing for a theatrical production of "Uncle Vanya," immersing himself in work.
