The film is adapted from a novel of the same name, with material drawn from the humidifier disinfectant incident that occurred in 2011. It tells a story about how some things must be done by someone, narrating the unfinished story of all of us. Jin Sang-kyung plays the surgeon "Jung Tae-ho," who lost his wife to an unknown lung disease and whose son's life is also at risk. Seo Young-hee plays his wife "Han Gi-joo," Lee Seon-bin portrays "Han Yeong-joo," who was a prosecutor at the local district attorney's office but became a lawyer due to her sister Gi-joo's death.
