A Black television director and his wife are inexplicably insulted by a white police officer over an alleged traffic violation; the officer, who seems deserving of condemnation, saves the Black woman he previously insulted in a moment of crisis; a naive Persian shop owner nearly murders a tattooed Mexican locksmith (played by Michael Peña); the district attorney (played by Brendan Fraser) and his wife (played by Sandra Bullock) vent their frustrations on an innocent locksmith after their Jeep is stolen; a Black police officer (played by Don Cheadle) deals with his superior's threats while frantically searching for his brother.
