In 1982, a three-person Antarctic research team from Norway was traversing the ice fields when they unexpectedly discovered a strange ship from a million years ago and found a mysterious creature frozen in the ice nearby. The talented and beautiful American paleontologist Kate Lloyd (played by Mary Elizabeth Winstead) was invited by Dr. Sandor Hawass (played by Ulrich Thomsen) to join a team of researchers in Antarctica. After careful study, they realized this was a life form never before seen on Earth. Just as the scientists were celebrating this incredible discovery, the mysterious creature began to thaw and launched a brutal attack on humanity. After a fierce struggle, the monster was ultimately buried in flames. However, the misfortune did not end there; after observing the creature's cells, Kate sensed that a disaster was about to strike all of humanity...
