Ace Ventura (played by Jim Carrey) is a pet detective who specializes in dealing with animals, making a living by helping people find their lost pets. Just before the upcoming football championship, the mascot of the Miami Dolphins—dolphin "Snowflake"—gets kidnapped. This undoubtedly greatly affects the morale of the team members. In desperation, the team's manager, Miss Mietetsha, hires Ace Ventura to retrieve the missing dolphin. Ace Ventura conducts a thorough investigation in his own unique style. Although there are constant laughs and he faces obstacles from Officer Ursula, he uncovers many clues. Miss Mietetsha gradually becomes impressed by his wit and cleverness, starting to view him in a new light.
