The only cinema by the sea in Onomichi City, Hiroshima Prefecture, Japan, has closed its doors. On the stormy night of the closure, a special screening of Japanese war films plays all night long. Three young men who come to watch the movie are suddenly surrounded by a lightning strike that attacks the cinema, transporting them through time and space into the world of the films. From the Edo period, the tumultuous Bakumatsu era, the Boshin War, to the Pacific War... the three gradually discover they are touring the world of war films on screen. As the history of war changes, film technology evolves from silent black and white to sound and color films. The stage shifts to the eve of the atomic bomb explosion in Hiroshima. Can the three young men save the traveling theater troupe they encounter and change their fate?
