Cheng Hui (played by Li Meifeng) has a mundane and boring marriage, yet she is a romantic woman who loves to fantasize, so she can only express her hidden passions in her diary. One day, a thief breaks into Cheng Hui's home, and detective Gao Zheng (played by Wan Ziliang) is assigned to apprehend him. In an unexpected turn of events, he stumbles upon Cheng Hui's diary and discovers the fiery emotions hidden beneath her aloof exterior. Gao Zheng, unable to contain himself, desires to get closer to Cheng Hui, even going so far as to conceal his identity as a police officer to win her over. Faced with this suddenly imposing man, Cheng Hui finds herself drawn to him, and the distance between them shortens. During a previous mission, Gao Zheng shot and killed a thief, and the thief's brother decides to seek revenge, targeting Cheng Hui. In a bid to save Cheng Hui, Gao Zheng reveals his true identity, and Cheng Hui, feeling deceived, chooses to leave in anger and sorrow.
