Betty (played by Alba Gaïa Kraghede Bellugi) is a sensitive and timid little girl living with her parents in a dark, eerie house next to a mental asylum. Betty spends her days enveloped in immense loneliness: her sister happily goes off to school, her parents' relationship is strained, the depths of the dark house are intimidating, and the sky is dim... One day, a handsome young man named Ivan (played by Benjamin Ramon) escapes from the asylum. When Betty discovers the weak Ivan, her kind heart leads her to hide him in the storage room of her home.
