To commemorate those who died by his hand, Zatoichi continues to travel in the area of Shikoku. On the way, he is attacked by the mounted Eigorou, and once again, Zatoichi has to kill. Heartbroken, he visits Eigorou's sister, Koyoshi, but Koyoshi, who understands the situation, attacks him with a knife. Zatoichi willingly takes the blow.
