A new lodger (played by Ivor Novello) is suspected by landlady (played by Marie Ault) and her husband (played by Arthur Chesney) of being the infamous "Avenger", but their daughter, model Daisy Bunting (played by Joan Barry), is deeply attracted to him. Daisy's boyfriend, Detective Joe Bates (played by Malcolm Keen), becomes jealous and, under the landlady's instigation, obtains a search warrant to invade his room. The police find a handgun and a map indicating previous murder locations, as well as a photograph of the first victim.
