In 1971, the Portuguese colonial war was still ongoing. A young doctor sent to Angola, South Africa, could only express his experiences at the front line through letters to his pregnant wife. Everything he observed in the foreign land, both the natural and cultural aspects, transformed into words filled with warmth and longing in his letters. However, as the conflict intensified, the darkest side of humanity could no longer be concealed, and the words in the letters became increasingly confusing... The film, with its grand and beautiful black-and-white imagery, composes a cruel fable of war.
