A sudden car accident causes the dispatched employee Harumi Hagiwa (played by Keiko Kitagawa) who is living alone in Beijing to be hospitalized. During her stay, she meets the caring nurse Riko Nishimura (played by Kyoko Fukada), who is understanding and diligently assists Harumi in negotiating compensation with the accident driver Kensuke Kudo (played by Kengo Kora) and Kudo's friend from the insurance company, Shinichi Hasegawa (played by Hiroyuki Onoue). On the eve of her discharge, Harumi invites Riko, who plans to resign, to share her apartment. The two girls bond remarkably well, joyfully documenting their cohabitation in a diary that expresses their feelings to each other. However, as they spend more time together, Harumi occasionally notices Riko’s fleeting cold expressions. Strange and terrifying events begin to occur around them, suggesting that Riko might harbor a cold-blooded personality named Marie within her. She wants to escape but ultimately discovers that nothing is as simple as it seems... This film is adapted from the work of the classical mystery writer Aya Imamura.
