11-month-old Xiu Zhi (played by Long Pinxu) suffers from Asperger's syndrome (a milder form of autism). His first memory is hearing Tian Guifang (played by Zhang Jingchu) call "Xiu Zhi," and then he smiled. Xiu Zhi's first thought – is he really Xiu Zhi or does he just look like Xiu Zhi? Tian Guifang prevented many things from happening. For instance, Xiu Zhi didn't go missing, the kitchen's Fat Sister wasn't scalded by boiling water, and Mo Fei's (played by Lina) dress didn't catch fire... but Uncle Menfang's umbrella still fell apart, and the principal's glasses broke... Xiu Zhi spent his time in kindergarten like this. Tian Guifang is mathematically illiterate, while Xiu Zhi verifies Zu Chongzhi's pi using the method of division; Tian Guifang still doesn't understand and has lost her job. Xiu Zhi knows that ants are born calculators with unique ways of navigating, while humans rely on memory to find their way, yet it's a mystery how Tian Guifang can always find Xiu Zhi. At 17, Xiu Zhi (played by Li Zhaofeng) sees his mold being cast – his father (played by Zhang Guoqiang), and Xiu Zhi wants to go abroad with his father. That day, it rained and the roads were blocked; Xiu Zhi discovered Tian Guifang couldn't climb over walls either. Tian Guifang said, "Xiu Zhi has grown up; it's better if Xiu Zhi doesn't grow up." But Xiu Zhi knows that people always have to grow up.
