Wu Minghan (played by Xu Guanghan) is a straightforward police officer. During a call, he accidentally picked up a red envelope off the ground, only to find himself entangled in a ghost marriage, with the person he is supposed to marry being a man named Mao Bangyu (played by Lin Baohong). Although Wu Minghan is reluctant, he soon realizes that if he doesn't go through with the marriage, bad luck will follow him. Reluctantly, he holds a ceremony with Mao Bangyu in the mourning hall. The next day, Mao Bangyu's ghost appears before Wu Minghan, and to end this absurd farce, Wu Minghan must help him fulfill his last wishes. He donates to an animal charity, visits Mao Bangyu's boyfriend from his living days, and investigates the truth behind the car accident that led to Mao Bangyu’s death. During this process, Wu Minghan and Mao Bangyu evolve from "fake couple" to "true friends."
