This film focuses on the early 20th century against the backdrop of social changes in Europe. After being born, a pair of twin sisters go their separate ways, with one becoming a socialite who seduces wealthy men, while the other engages in terrorist activities as an anarchist, strapped with explosives. Unbeknownst to each other, they board the same Orient Express and end up having a relationship with the same man. When they finally come face to face, they have shed their former habits and become truly independent women.
