Wu Shun (played by Tony Leung) and Tuo Shui Long (played by Eric Tsang) were childhood friends growing up in a village. However, thirty years ago, Tuo Shui Long, who was in charge of managing charity funds, embezzled the money during a fundraising night and then vanished without a trace. Time flies, and thirty years later, after Wu Shun's business goes bankrupt, he returns to the village with his family. Soon after, Tuo Shui Long unexpectedly appears. The two reminisce about the past, filled with emotions, and the misunderstanding in Wu Shun's heart gradually dissipates. Wu Shun treats the bizarre experiences that Tuo Shui Long shares over the years as mere jokes. Su Zhen (played by Miriam Yeung), who grew up with Wu Shun, also returns to the village. A late-night encounter between the ex-lovers, caught unexpectedly by Shun Sao (played by Sandra Ng), leads to a misunderstanding. However, the two quickly resolve their differences, and the family reconciles. Tuo Shui Long initiates the "Village Revitalization Plan," offering the villagers hope for survival amidst the encroachment of large supermarkets and malls. However, just as the villagers confidently engage in the revitalization plan, Tuo Shui Long disappears again, and a corporate group appears, threatening to evict the residents. What exactly has Tuo Shui Long experienced over the years? Will the villagers be able to overcome the crisis? Will Tuo Shui Long reappear? The answers to all these questions will be revealed in the film's conclusion. This film features over a hundred Hong Kong stars, marking another "call to arms" for Hong Kong actors since the 2010 film "72 Tenants of Prosperity."
