When Shi Lu (played by Shang Yuxian) returns to China after studying in the United States, she discovers a significant emotional gap between her and her father (played by Wang Yanhui) due to his remarriage and the shift of his attention to his new family. During Cody's visit to the U.S., Shi Lu not only becomes his sister but also his caregiver. Cody’s dependence and needs gradually awaken Shi Lu’s feelings for her family, allowing her to experience the warmth of long-lost familial love. This experience slowly transforms Shi Lu's values, prompting her to reevaluate her life and career choices, and she must choose between pursuing her personal dreams and taking on family responsibilities. This decision not only affects her future trajectory but also redefines her relationships with family members.
