This war film is a tribute to the 70th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War (1941-1945). It revolves around the story of the protagonist Pavel Zubov, a school teacher for whom being a teacher is his life's mission. Pavel's village is occupied by fascists. He believes in fundamental human values such as love and family. However, a series of events lead to changes that alter his perception of life and bring him back to reality. In the war, the enemy gradually reveals its true nature. Pavel must make a difficult choice: to survive and adapt to the new regime or to fight for his family, love, homeland, ideals, and beliefs.
