In the arid highlands of Bolivia, an elderly Quechua couple, who rely on herding llamas for a living, have been living a life of mutual support. However, a rare and severe drought has exacerbated their already precarious living conditions, threatening not only their own survival but also that of the entire village. Their grandson returns from the city, wanting them to move in with him, but for the couple, who are accustomed to village life, this presents another harsh challenge.
