Ordinary middle-aged man Cheng Yong (played by Xu Zheng) runs a health supplement store, feeling disheartened and divorced. The unexpected arrival of Lu Shouyi (played by Wang Chuanjun) opens up a new business opportunity for him to buy medicine in India as a “proxy buyer.” Despite facing numerous difficulties, he discovers a business opportunity along this "medication path" and becomes the exclusive agent for Indian generic drugs that treat chronic myeloid leukemia. While making money, he also meets several patients and their families, including Si Hui (played by Tan Zhuo), who is forced to become a dancer to save her daughter, Pastor Liu (played by Yang Xinming), who speaks fluent “priest-like” English, and the hot-tempered “Huang Mao” (played by Zhang Yu). The group partners up for business, with profits soaring but also facing many crises. Cheng Yong's ex-brother-in-law Officer Cao (played by Zhou Yiwei) is tasked with investigating the source of the generic drugs, while drug dealer Zhang Changlin (played by Wang Yanhui) and a legitimate Swiss pharmaceutical representative (played by Li Naiwen) eye their operations with suspicion, turning business into a tug-of-war about redemption. This film is based on the true story of leukemia patient Lu Yong, who bought cancer medication on behalf of others.
